Congratulations to Emily Kringle, PhD, OTR/L, the 2023 recipient of the ACRM Award of Excellence in Post-Acute Stroke Rehabilitation. This award lectureship recognizes outstanding clinical, intellectual, and service contributions in the area of stroke.
Dr. Kringle will present the award during the ACRM Annual Conference.
ABOUT EMILY KRINGLE
Emily Kringle, PhD, OTR/L is an Assistant Professor of Physical Activity and Health Promotion in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Dr. Kringle also directs the Disability and WELLness (DWELL) Laboratory, where her research program focuses on health promotion among adults with disabilities and neurological disorders. She integrates her expertise in rehabilitation science, occupational therapy, behavioral medicine, and community-engaged research to develop novel behavioral and social interventions. Her research program focuses on enabling adults with disabilities to engage in the personally meaningful activities that comprise physically and socially active lifestyles. Dr. Kringle’s current research is funded by NIH through the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. This research focuses on adapting a behavioral activation-based intervention designed to reduce post-stroke sedentary behavior through engagement in meaningful daily activities for remote delivery using videoconferencing. This research also examines the impact of sedentary behavior and activity engagement within stroke survivor-support person dyads.
