2019 Award Recipient
Please join us in congratulating Sandra L. Kletzel, PhD, the recipient of the 2019 Women in Neurodegenerative Disease Rehabilitation Science Award. This award was established in 2018 to acknowledge world-class rehabilitation research conducted by a female scientist in the rehabilitation research field of multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson’s, dementia, Alzheimer’s or related neurodegenerative disease.
Dr. Kletzel is an early career investigator at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital focused on developing neuroscience-based cognitive rehabilitation treatments for Parkinson’s disease. Her research approach is to understand brain and behavior relationships to customize neuromodulatory cognitive treatments. She is the recipient of a VA RR&D Career Development Award and VA RR&D SPiRE. Dr. Kletzel also serves as ACRM Co-Chair of the Measurement Networking Group Applied Cognition Geriatrics Task Force.
The award will be presented to Dr. Kletzel during the Neurodegenerative Diseases Networking Group Business Meeting on 6 November at the ACRM 2019 Annual Conference in Chicago.
