Dr. Cherney will present an award lecture on Friday at the ACRM 2017 Annual Conference in Atlanta on her current research focus on innovative treatment approaches for aphasia. Dr. Cherney is professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine and a senior research scientist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. She is also founder and director of the Center for Aphasia Research and Treatment at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Dr. Cherney will also be presenting a symposium on Thursday titled “Intensity in Aphasia Rehabilitation: Contrasting Perspectives from Neuroscience and Cognitive Psychology.” Other presenters include Anastasia Raymer, PhD, CCC-SLP, Professor and Chair at Old Dominion University; and Amy Rodriguez, PhD, CCC-SLP, Research Health Scientist at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.
