2023 Outstanding Mentor Award

 

The Career Development Networking Group is pleased to honor Abiodun Akinwuntan PhD, MPH, MBA, FASAHP, FACRM, FAMedS with the ACRM Career Development Networking Group Outstanding Mentor Award. This award was established in 2016 to honor those who have significantly contributed through mentoring, to the development of the early career rehabilitation professional, the Early Career Development Course and the Career Development Networking Group’s Mentoring Task Force.

The award presentation will occur during the ACRM 2023 Annual Conference. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Akinwuntan for his achievement.

 

 

ABOUT ABIODUN AKINWUNTAN

Abiodun Akinwuntan, PhD, MPH, MBA, FASAHP, is Dean and Professor, University of Kansas School of Health Professions. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos in 1994, a master’s and doctoral degrees in neurological rehabilitation from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium in 2000 and 2004 respectively, and a MPH in 2012 and MBA in 2015 from Augusta University, USA. Dean Akinwuntan is an expert in the use of virtual-reality technologies to improve daily living activities in neurologically impaired persons. He has collaborated extensively on several funded grants totaling more than $15 million, has authored more than 110 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts and authored 8 book chapters. Dean Akinwuntan is a 2013 Fulbright Scholar Award recipient and a 2016 Fulbright Specialist Award recipient. He is an Academic Editor of PLOS ONE Journal and an Associate Editor for the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Journal. He is a Fellow of the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions.
