Hello, my name is Brooke Holt, and I’m a licensed speech language pathologist and a professional track assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

I co-chair the Girls & Women with Acquired Brain Injury Task Force, along with doctors Angela Colantonio and Yelena Golden.

The mission of our task force is to advance scientific knowledge, develop standards of practice, and provide education and training informing the appropriate care of girls and women with acquired brain injury, and as such, address the inequity of research on this area.

In addition, we aim to promote knowledge mobilization with respect to research on girls and women with acquired brain injury in collaboration with stakeholders.

Right now, our task force is working on developing an ACRM information and education page on TBI in the context of intimate partner violence. We’re also actively recruiting new members to our task force.

If you would like to get involved, there are opportunities to present and discuss current research related to girls and women with acquired brain injury.

We welcome involvement with ongoing projects and are open to suggestions for new task task force projects.

Please reach out to me or the other co-chairs.

If you would like to get involved in these opportunities, please click the link below to see our task force web page, join our monthly Zoom meetings, or to learn more about how to get involved.

We look forward to seeing you at the Annual 100th Conference this fall in Atlanta.

Please stop by our task force meeting where you can meet members and learn more about ways to get involved.
