Telehealth and digital technologies are desirable service provision mechanisms for the post-stroke population. However, implementation and adoption barriers exist including access to devices, telephone and internet availability, digital literacy and access to technical support. Considerations include stroke disability, limited access to the internet, digital literacy challenges and reduced language proficiency for some individuals. Strategies to address these potential barriers can include the development of telehealth tools and technologies with the stroke survivor and functional limitations in mind as well as digital literacy training or digital health navigators.
