Jon W. Lindberg, MBA, CAE, is the chief executive officer of ACRM. He holds a BA in political science and an MBA with a specialization in finance and a concentration in accounting. In addition, Lindberg earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), which is a designation held by only 3,500 association executives in the world.
Lindberg has an exceptional track record among both non-profit associations and technology user groups of for-profit companies such as Microsoft, Sterling Software, Computer Associates, Tandem, Compaq Computer, Hewlett-Packard, et al. In addition, he has considerable expertise in event planning, having started, purchased, run and sold large events globally. He is a highly accomplished association executive with a rich history of international experience and a consummate student of organizational management and leadership. At the moment, Lindberg is passionate about helping ACRM realize its full potential.
With the full support of a highly-engaged and committed board of governors, Lindberg successfully led ACRM through an unprecedented period of growth and redefinition. In less than five years, since he took the helm in 2009, ACRM undertook an extensive rebranding of the association and a major business model shift, resulting in explosive growth in membership (965% increase), and annual conference attendance (346%). Working closely with the publisher of the ACRM scientific journal, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Lindberg secured the largest distribution of any journal in rehabilitation, while maintaining uncompromising standards for quality research. Archives is today the most highly-cited journal in its category according to Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Report, Science Edition, with over 2.5M downloads per year.
Lindberg has assembled a highly effective business team and together, supporting the ACRM Board of Governors and volunteers, he aspires to help create the most meaningful and impactful health care association in the world.
He makes his home in the Washington, DC area.
