Two BI-ISIG members were recognized for their contributions to the field of brain injury:
- The Jennett Plum Award for Clinical Achievement in the Field of Brain Injury Medicine was awarded to John Whyte, MD, PhD, FACRM. He presented “Disorders of Consciousness: Balancing Hope and Acceptance” discussing the evolution of the study of disorders of consciousness over the past thirty years.
- Tatyana Mollayeva, PhD was awarded the first Robert D. Voogt NABIS Founders Award, which is jointly sponsored by Robert D. Voogt’s family and the North American Brain Injury Society (NABIS). The RDV Founders Award represents her demonstrated dedication to the advancement of the field of traumatic brain injury, specifically in the areas of clinical care, research, policy, litigation, or advocacy.
