2023 Spring Edition
Stroke Education Playlist
The Stroke Education Playlist is a free resource for people living with the effects of stroke, care partners and caregivers, community members, and healthcare professionals. As of this date, this playlist includes 30 videos on the topic of stroke designed to educate a wide audience of stakeholders. Twenty-five of these videos were developed in collaboration with stakeholders via focus groups and large group training; development was supported by a contract awarded by New Mexico Governor’s Commission on Disability Brain Injury Advisory Council to Dr. Jessica D. Richardson. Five videos were created as part of an educational series hosted by Chronic Disease Prevention Council of New Mexico – Heart Disease and Stroke Workgroup. Videos are in English (17), Spanish (8), and Navajo (5); videos in American Sign Language (ASL) are in development.
This was developed in part by Stroke ISIG member Jessica Richardson, PHD, CCC-SLP

The Stroke Education Playlist can be accompanied by testing materials to enhance outreach and education. Included are materials for a general audience as well as materials for persons with communication disorders post-stroke and/or literacy differences. We experienced great success helping people to navigate these materials, using either simple written directions to ensure they successfully moved from one video and module to the next as well as via virtual facilitation of sessions.
