Non-Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury Task Force

 

MISSION

To promote evidence- based practice and patient- centered care for individuals with non- traumatic spinal cord injury. Target audience is healthcare clinicians working with individuals with NTSCI.

PURPOSE

To promote evidence-based practice and patient-centered care for individuals with non- traumatic spinal cord injury. Target audience is healthcare clinicians working with individuals with NTSCI.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Facilitate inter-disciplinary and inter-organizational collaboration among clinicians and researchers regarding best practices for individuals with NTSCI.
  2. Support the creation and dissemination of educational materials (conference presentations, publications, webinars, resources) for clinicians on the management of individuals with NTSCI.

2024 – 2025 Goals:

  • Support consistent data collection and outcomes tracking for individuals with NTSCI (ACRM, ASIA, SCI Model Systems)
  • Development of NTSCI podcast panel with ASIA NTSCI group
  • Propose content for the 2025 ACRM Annual Conference

 

2023 – 2024 Accomplishments:

  • Presented two symposia at the ACRM 2024 Annual Conference
  • Accepted proposal at the 2024 AOTA Inspire Conference

 

2024 GOALS

  1.  Continue to grow task force membership and activity in collaboration with the ASIA NTSCI subcommittee.
  2. Collaborate with experts across SCI organizations to support consistent data collection and outcomes tracking for individuals with NTSCI diagnoses (ASIA, ACRM ISIG, SCI Model Systems, NIDLRR)
  3. Develop additional programming and clinical resources (AOTA Inspire Conference 2024 proposal accepted, ACRM Annual Conference 2024 TBD, collaborate on development of NTSCI podcast panel with ASIA group; development of NTSCI Fact Sheets)
