Member Spotlight: Meet your Social Media Editor

Nicole Kuhl, OTD, OTR/L, CBIS is the Capstone Coordinator and Assistant Professor of occupational therapy at Des Moines University. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with her master’s and post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy. Dr. Kuhl has practiced in adult physical rehabilitation and brain injury and has helped develop and run a wheelchair seating and positioning clinic. Dr. Kuhl’s research interests include professional identity formation, teaching and learning strategies, and clinical practice, including professional burnout, the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic, and the perceptions of the functional electrical stimulation (FES) cycle. She has served as the Chair of the Education and Research Committee for the Iowa Occupational therapy Association and as a reviewer for the American Occupational Therapy Association Annual conference. She is a National Board Certified occupational therapist and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. She is the Iowa Ambassador for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and the Social Media Editor for the Brain Injury Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group.
