The ACRM Fellows Committee and Board of Governors are pleased to recognize Dr. Elliot Roth for his outstanding record of professional service to ACRM and for the nationally significant contributions he has made to the field of medical rehabilitation by conferring on his the designation of ACRM Fellow.

ABOUT ELLIOT ROTH

Elliot Roth is the Paul B. Magnuson Professor and Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chair of Rehabilitation Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Attending Physician on the Brain Innovation Center at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, formerly the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. He is Director of the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Enhancing Community Living by Increasing Participation and Self-Efficacy (ELCIPSE) for People with Disabilities, supported by NIDILRR. He has managed many large Federal and foundation research grants, published more than 200 papers, and served as Visiting Professor and guest lecturer at many institutions and courses. Dr. Roth is Editor-in-Chief of Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation, and a member of the Editorial Board of Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has served on several Technical Expert Panels on measures to determine quality of care and reimbursement systems for rehabilitation programs. He provides direct inpatient and outpatient care, does extensive teaching, and conducts research activities, primarily in the subspecialty of neurorehabilitation. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Washington University, his Medical Degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed his Internship at Cook County Hospital and his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine/Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, where he also completed a Fellowship in Stroke Rehabilitation. He joined the Northwestern University Faculty in 1986. Dr. Roth is a passionate advocate of interdisciplinary team collaboration.
