Noninvasive Stimulation Task Force
Mission:
The mission of our task force is to facilitate knowledge translation among researchers and clinicians with interest in the application of noninvasive stimulation modalities for enhancing neuroplasticity. The task force will develop new educational materials through collaborative projects, conference presentations, and publications to help advance the knowledge and understanding of non-invasive stimulation modalities and their role in neurorehabilitation.
Objectives and Goals:
- Provide education to increase understanding of: 1) the theoretical principles underlying the use of noninvasive stimulation for increasing neuroplasticity, and 2) the application basics of noninvasive stimulation modalities.
- Develop recommendations for standardized reporting procedures for application of novel noninvasive stimulation modalities.
- Discuss common barriers to the implementation of noninvasive stimulation modalities in the clinical setting and work towards facilitating clinical implementation.
We will accomplish these goals though the following initiatives:
- Increasing the membership of the task force
- Initiating periodic meetings
- Publishing Information/Education Page(s) in Archives of PM&R
- Submitting conference presentation(s)/poster(s) for ACRM 2024
