ABOUT Jason Falvey
Dr. Falvey is a physical therapist and clinician-scientist who focuses his research on equitably improving functional and social outcomes for older adults recovering from traumatic injuries or serious illnesses. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science, and of Epidemiology and Public Health, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He also serves as the inaugural Director of the Center for Disability Justice. Several of his >80 peer-reviewed publications have been featured in high-impact journals such as JAMA Internal Medicine. He also has received several awards for his research and leadership from the American Physical Therapy Association and American Geriatrics Society. Additionally, Dr. Falvey is a board-certified clinical specialist in geriatric physical therapy and still maintains an active clinical practice at the Baltimore Veterans Administration Hospital.
