The ACRM Early Career Networking Group is forming a new Mentoring Task Force. The mission of this task force is to facilitate the development of mentoring relationships among rehabilitation professionals at varying stages in their career development through research, educational, and clinical collaborative opportunities.

Our goal is to foster mentoring opportunities within the clinical and research realms to address important issues such as balancing multiple roles (e.g., work/life, research/clinical), gender issues in rehabilitation medicine, and grantsmanship.

We are currently recruiting mentors! We believe that investigators and clinicians at every career stage can benefit from mentoring others and have valuable experience to share. Many of the mentoring activities will only require a small time commitment of one to a few hours quarterly.

We will also be featuring a new “Ask the Mentor” column in future editions of Rehabilitation Outlook. Each quarter, we will ask an ACRM mentor to respond to questions submitted by members.

If you would be willing to participate in this or other mentoring activities with the Mentoring Task Force, or if you have questions you would like to submit to Ask the Mentor, please email Brooks Wingo or Meghan Geiss.
