Joint Messaging Statement: Communicating about Brain Injury
The attached document is the result of a collaboration among a diverse 15-member working group representing the national organizations listed on page one of the document. These members were invited to draft a statement clarifying how we talk and write about brain injury and what it means for brain injury to be considered a chronic condition, with the goal of promoting a balanced message of realism and hope.
The group included individuals with lived experience of brain injury, family members, brain injury professionals, researchers, and advocates. We are proud that ACRM’s Brain Injury Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group was represented in this workgroup, with Dr. Angelle Sander as the representative. Please read the statement and share it with your colleagues, individuals with brain injury, and others who may be interested.
POSTDOCTORAL MATCH PROGRAM
The BI-ISIG has initiated a Postdoctoral Match Program to help match postdoc rehabilitation trainees with postdoctoral brain injury research positions. To participate, please complete the Postdoctoral Match Program Application survey by 5:00 PM ET on Tuesday, 1 February 2022 to tell us about yourself or the research position you have available. Once the application period has concluded, we will follow-up via email to connect postdoc trainees with the positions available.
