ABOUT ALICE BELL

Alice Bell, PT, DPT, is on staff as a senior payment specialist in the Public Affairs Unit of the American Physical Therapy Association. Prior to joining APTA in November 2017, Alice was  actively involved in CMMI demonstration projects focused on alternative payment models and integrated care delivery models. She received a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and a doctor of physical therapy degree from the University of Montana. A board-certified clinical specialist in geriatric physical therapy, she has lectured and written many articles on topics related to physical therapy and the older adult. She has practiced in a variety of settings and has 37 years of experience as a physical therapist. Dr. Bell has presented at many national conferences. Her professional activities include serving as a member of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Technical Expert Panel for Skilled Nursing Alternative Payment Systems, APTA staff representative for the CPT Editorial Panel, APTA appointee to the NDHI Opioid Crisis Workgroup, APTA appointee to the National Quality Partnership Opioid Stewardship Action Team, member of the National Quality Partnership Opioid Stewardship Steering Committee, and member of the National Quality Partnership Leadership Consortium.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

2. Identify the role of telehealth in rehabilitation therapy delivery
3. Understand the best practices for telehealth PT implementation across specialties
4. Describe models of digital delivery of rehabilitation therapy
5. Identify CPT codes that are appropriate for utilization for physical therapy services provided via telehealth

General Objective for the Webinar Series: Identify practice parameters in the provision of rehabilitation services through telehealth.

Target Audience: Rehabilitation professionals (Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Neuropsychologists, and physicians in physiatry and internal medicine, and other related specialties).

Physical Therapy: CSMC is a recognized by the Physical Therapy Board of California as a continuing competency approving agency. This course is being offered for 1.0 hours of continuing competency credit in California.

Partial credit will not be offered. Requirements for credit include full attendance at the workshop and participation in discussion, completion of course evaluation and post-test.
