BIO

Ms. Batts is Executive Director of the Shepherd Center Foundation. She joined the Shepherd Center in November 2016 and is responsible for setting development policy and leading the fundraising and volunteer teams in support of Shepherd’s mission. Previously, Ms. Batts served as Director, Campaigns for the Piedmont Healthcare Foundation from July 2008 until November 2016. In her role, she was responsible for leading the execution of strategic planning for future campaigns, including a $150 million capital campaign for the expansion of the Piedmont Atlanta campus.  Under her leadership, Piedmont’s philanthropic support has realized significant results, including the three largest gifts in Piedmont’s history.

From 2006 to July 2008 she served as Director of Development at Emory University School of Medicine in Georgia. In that role she oversaw fundraising for the Department of Pediatrics. Prior to Emory, she enjoyed an 8-year tenure at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in development positions.

Ms. Batts, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of the South, and received a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago. Most recently, she served on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Atlanta as the President. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of Camp Sunshine. Previously she served on the Board of Directors of the ARCS Foundation, the Atlanta Speech School, Jewish Home Life Communities, Literacy Action, Inc. and the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children.
