BIO

Monika Gross, M.AmSAT, mATI, RSME, BFA. Executive Director of The Poise Project, a nonprofit with the mission of maintaining poise and personal growth throughout all stages and challenges of life using the principles of Alexander technique (AT). The Poise Project is committed to removing barriers and making Alexander technique training available across socio-economic groups and to those with chronic conditions. We are the recipient of three Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day® community grants to deliver AT-based classes to people living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners at sites across North Carolina and in Washington DC. ). At ACRM 2018 in Dallas, The Poise Project delivered a half-day introductory course, a symposium, and two research posters on AT-based rehabilitation interventions. Monika is a certified AT instructor since 1985, a teaching member of the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT) and Alexander Technique International (ATI), and a Registered Somatic Movement Educator with the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA).
