Michelle Camicia, PhD, MSN, CRRN, CCM, NEA-BC, FAHA, is the director of operations for Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center where she leads the interprofessional team to produce industry-leading quality, efficiency, safety, and care experience. She is a past president of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and has participated in numerous national and international advisory panels and committees related to professional nursing practice, rehabilitation, and health care reform, including the National Institutes for Health National Advisory Board for Medical Rehabilitation Research, the National Quality Forum Neurology Standing Committee, and the Editorial Board of Rehabilitation Nursing. Michelle is Chair-elect of the American Heart/Stroke Association International Stroke Conference State-of-the-Science Symposium. She has published numerous peer-reviewed research studies, manuscripts and book chapters related to care transitions, family caregiving, and health services for individuals with disabilities. Michelle earned her PhD in nursing and health care leadership from The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at the University of California, Davis. Her research is focused on improving care delivery for individuals with disabling conditions and their family caregivers.
