Spotlighted members were asked: “What books, podcasts, journal articles, documentaries, and/or blogs would you recommend to TNG members?” Here’s what they had to say:
Shahrose Aratia, HBSc
Two blogs I follow are the non-clinical PT, and covalent careers. As a student, I’ve found them to be very resourceful, providing great insight on a whole host of topics from diverse fields.
Mohanraj Thirumalai, MS, MEng, PhD
I would recommend the “MobiHealth News” and “Healthcare IT News” from HIMSS. Having a pulse on the newest innovations in technology in general and their role in healthcare can go a long way in fusing creative applications of those technologies for PWD.
Natalee Takasumi, DPT
I really like the blog posts from the Christopher and Dana Reeves foundation. There are posts from a variety of perspectives from patients, to therapists to physicians: http://www.christopherreeve.org/blog
I also am a member of the APTA neurologic section, so I stay up to date on what’s in JNPT and the podcasts they release.
I’ve also joined several Physical Therapy groups on Facebook. It’s been a way for me to offer advice as well as keep a finger on what practicing therapists are going through in different settings.
