IC 28: Rehabilitation Treatment Specification System (RTSS): Principles and Application in Rehabilitation Education, Research, and Clinical Practice

BIO

Dr. Ferraro has worked at MossRehab and Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute for 35 years, serving in a variety of leadership, research and direct service roles. Early clinical occupational therapy practice on the inpatient unit of the brain injury center coupled with a concurrent role in research offered the opportunity to be more systematic in examining the naturalistic action performance of patients. The RTSS was a beneficial next step to explore clinical practice, and she has been as a member of the RTSS research team since its inception in 2009. As Education Coordinator for the brain injury center Dr. Ferraro is responsible for planning monthly education for the clinical staff. For the Moss TBI Model System, she serves as a Clinical Knowledge Translation Liaison.

Dr. Ferraro is also the Coordinator of the advanced practice OT Fellowship Program in Physical Rehabilitation for MossRehab and serves on the AOTA Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
