Spring 2022 Edition

Greetings members and readers to our fifth annual International Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group (I-ISIG) Newsletter. We are proud to announce our recent advancement to I-ISIG as of 2022!  Our editors, Eva Pettemeridou from Cyprus and Rozlie Potts from Florida, gather highlights from our groups global outreach and share updates regarding research and clinical practice guidelines which are relevant and culturally appropriate to the evolving worldwide field of rehabilitation medicine. Our group collaboration reaches at least 60 different countries. We pride ourselves on promoting evidence-based research in health care, while simultaneously providing experiential clinical examples from diverse populations.

We encourage our readers to explore our task force initiatives and consider getting involved from a global perspective! The world of rehabilitation medicine is constantly changing and advancing, being impacted by worldly events, research, growth of cultural knowledge and clinical experience.

Covid-19 is an example of a worldwide event which forever changed our perspectives and presentation of rehabilitation medicine. It is our goal to be a consistent resource for our colleagues when navigating rehabilitation care with diverse populations.

We have a lot of exciting announcements throughout this newsletter and are excited to share the news with our members and prospective members. As always, Thank you to the Commission Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities International (CARF) for your consistent support and contributions to our internationally recognized standards of care. We are forever appreciative for the hard work and dedication behind our past founding Chair, Fofi Constantinidou. We look forward to continuing to grow our group with Kristine Kingsley as our Chair. Thank you to Cindy Robinson for your continued guidance and assistance in maintaining our presence within ACRM. We look forward to another year of staying connected with our members and meeting prospective members! Please contact us to share your remarks, ideas, concerns or questions via e-mail: ACRMinternational@gmail.com.

Respectfully submitted,

Eva Pettemeridou & Rozlie Potts
