Dr. Laddu is a Population Health Researcher in cardiovascular disease and metabolic health, and is primarily focused on developing and disseminating effective health promotion, chronic disease prevention, and management across the life course. Her research background includes preventive medicine, nutritional science with specialized expertise in the use of imaging methods (e.g., DXA, HRpQCT) to examine how changes in body composition (i.e., muscle quality and regional fat distribution) contribute to the potential onset of chronic diseases with aging. Her more recent research agenda broadly seeks to address modifiable lifestyle and behavioral factors that may attenuate risk or disease progression of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, osteoporosis, and frailty during aging.
