BIO

Kara Patterson is a physical therapist with 8 years of clinical practice all of which have been dedicated to working with patients with a stroke. She currently works at Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation (BIR) in Dallas, Texas, and is a part of an evidenced-based and innovative CVA team. She has an advanced certification in Neuro-IFRAH and Kinesio Taping, has taught continuing education courses for the past 4 years at BIR on the management of the patient post-stroke, and is a mentor for others in the department. In addition, Kara leads a journal club designed to facilitate evidenced based practices and in-services to all physical therapists within the department. She is active in research focusing on best practice for patients with stroke as well as early caregiver activation, and EKSO gait training for patients with a stroke. Kara is passionate about working with the stroke population, as well as advancing research to improve outcomes for these patients.
