Deborah L. Wilkerson Early Career Award
The
ACRM Awards Committee in conjunction with the ACRM Early Career
Task Force is proud to announce the Deborah L. Wilkerson Early
Career Award in Rehabilitation Research.
Applications
are due to ACRM National Office by June 1, 2010.
Deadline

Award:
The
recipient of this award is the Deborah L. Wilkerson Early
Career Award in Rehabilitation Research winner in the year
awarded.
Winner
will receive:
- Plaque
- Monetary
Award of $2,500
- Stipend
to travel to the current year ACRM annual conference (up
to $1,000)
- Complimentary
registration to ACRM annual conference (a $425 value)
- Program
slot to present research at ACRM annual conference

Criteria:
- Candidate
must be within 10 years of completion of training.

Candidate must demonstrate that he or she has made
significant contributions to rehabilitation research in
his or her early career work.

Candidate does not need to be within a Department
of Rehabilitation Medicine, but must be conducting
rehabilitation research.

Candidate must be a current member of the American
Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Candidate must attend the current year's ACRM annual
conference.

Application
Process:
-
Candidates may self-nominate.
-
Statement of approximately 500 words in length outlining
individual's research accomplishments in rehabilitation.

Demonstration of service to ACRM, although not a required
criteria, will be considered in review of the application.
As such, it is advantageous to discuss any such service
in one's application statement.
- Three letters of support are required and must be written
by members of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Letters should be in sealed envelopes that are mailed to
applicant and included in full application packet. Submission of 3 to 5 peer-reviewed publications. Manuscripts
accepted, but not yet published are acceptable as well as
those already in print.

The candidate does not need to be the senior author on all
papers submitted, but must be the senior author on at least
one of the papers submitted.
